In short
RateCalc is a privacy-first calculator site. Every calculation runs in your browser. We do not see, store, or share the numbers you type in, and there are no accounts. The site is funded by advertising — see Advertising below for what that involves.
What we don’t collect
- Anything you type into a calculator or tool.
- The results those calculators produce.
- Your name, email, address, or any account info.
What we do collect
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service to count visits and see which calculators are popular. It is cookieless, does not store your IP address, and does not track you across other sites. The only thing recorded is the page you viewed, your country, and the type of device and browser.
If something on the site crashes, we may receive an automatic error report so we can fix it. These reports are scrubbed of personal information before being sent.
Cookies and local storage
We set no cookies of our own. Your theme preference (light or dark) is saved in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. Our analytics is cookieless.
Advertising cookies are the exception, and they are handled by Google — see below.
Advertising
Running costs are covered by ads. We use Google AdSense, with Google’s certified consent management platform handling consent where the law requires it.
- Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Consent, where it is required. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, Google’s certified consent management platform asks for your choice before personalised advertising cookies are used, and records it. You can consent, refuse, or open detailed options — refusing is a single click, on the same screen as consenting. Refusing does not restrict any calculator on this site.
- Changing your mind. The consent prompt can be reopened from your browser by clearing this site’s stored data, which resets the choice. Wherever you are, you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and of third-party vendors’ advertising cookies at aboutads.info.
- Your calculator inputs are never shared with advertisers. They never leave your browser at all, so there is nothing to share — that does not change whether you accept ads or refuse them.
Your rights
We don’t collect personal data, so there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or a US state with its own privacy law, the practical effect is the same: we hold nothing about you.
Advertising consent is handled by Google’s consent platform and can be changed as described above. If you have a specific question, email us and we’ll respond.

If we update this policy we’ll change the “Last updated” date above.
